Integration with the European Union
With the entry into the European Union (EU), Bulgaria has acquired all the rights as a full member of EU, including the right to vote and present at all meetings of the authorities and EU institutions.
From the implementation of European norms and policies, which in the course of accession negotiations was able to negotiate the basic conditions of entry of the country.
EU policy is already part of domestic policy in Bulgaria. This raises the question of finding points of intersection between the decisions taken at European level and the national priorities of Bulgaria.
Participation in decision-making in the EU strengthened dialogue with Member States and European Union institutions and deepening the bilateral relations with individual countries. In this regard, the participation of organizations and institutions of the Union is a major tool for active international business, especially given the long and complex process of decision-making in the European Union, which requires coordination with the various EU institutions and twenty-seven States members of the EC.
The State Agency for Information Technologies and Communications (SAITC) as a specialized body implementing the state policy on information technology and communications, is actively involved in their representatives in the Committee on Communications and Radio Spectrum Committee, which assist the European Commission, working groups: Telecommunications and information technology, postal services and transport – Intermodal Affairs Council of the European Union, the Governing Body of the Supervisory Board of global satellite navigation system, the Advisory Council on Global Monitoring for Environment and Security Council and the European Agency for the security of networks and information, groups and subgroups and ad hoc groups established to implement this initiative i2010; mirror group at the European technology platforms and the Steering Committee regular program of the European Community.
With the adoption of the decree number 85 of the Council of Ministers on 17 April 2007 for the organization and coordination of the European Union established a new mechanism that will implement activities arising from the accession of Bulgaria to the EU. Formed in the Council for European Affairs on the establishment and operation of 31 working groups, the State Agency for Information Technologies and Communications is a leading Management Working Group (WG) 17 Telecommunications and information technologies.
In accordance with Resolution number 85 of the Council of Ministers of WG 17, the tasks associated with policy analysis and tracking of changes in EU legislation in the field of telecommunications, information technology and information society services, as well as the coordination of European space policy.
