Welcome to the European Union!

What is the significance of EU membership for Bulgaria and the Bulgarian citizens? The answer to this question was given in an interview with Officer Radio Bulgaria Tatyane Obretenova MPs from all represented in the parliament political parties.
“I think Bulgaria has already proved that a well-trained personnel who can provide her dignity. And the Bulgarians are always ready to exert all necessary efforts in order to take a deserved place in the forefront. I hope that it will be so in the EU “, – says Atanas Paparizou, chairman of the committee on European integration in the National Assembly. In his view, EU membership will bring more opportunities for Bulgarians progress. “Accession to the European community, however, means new responsibilities – continues Mr. Paparizou. – We will already bound not only on paper but in practice the rules adopted by us in the last 2-3 years so that the manufactured goods we have gained access to European market. This right has already earned a lot, but not all of Bulgarian firms, and the rest have to work very hard to be competitive in the new conditions. Still, the fact that economic growth in our country are among the highest in Europe, is a good basis for that in the next 10 years we have been able to reach the average European living standards. ”

“From 1 January 2007 Bulgaria will take its rightful place on the map of those countries that once and overcome all differences and conflicts, opposing them in the past, are willing to live and work together in order to provide their citizens with prosperity and happiness, – says Cetin Kazak, the observer in the European Parliament from the faction of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms, a partner in the ruling Bulgarian triple coalition. – For Bulgaria this means that we have fully overcome its former division of the map of Europe and the world, conducted at the end of World War II, and that our country has become a full European entity. Of course, at the very beginning, we have to overcome some obstacles, but it is no secret and not used, and with other countries in the early years of their accession to the EU. But the Bulgarian citizens must know that the EU membership of Bulgaria will bring great benefit and will contribute to its development. I also hope that it will impact positively on the development of cooperation between the countries of the Balkan region, which more successfully joins the rest of Europe. Thus, the citizens of Balkan countries will become smaller and more Balkan Europeans, including in economic terms, that, undoubtedly, will have a positive impact on the overall level of confidence and security in the region. It is no secret also that it will not happen immediately, but in any case, the standard of living, both in Bulgaria and Romania will be constantly enhanced, and the pace much faster than those that we would develop if the time is not would have made a strategic choice – to join the EU “, – emphasized Cetin Kazak.

Membership in the EU means above all, full emancipation of the Bulgarian state and major changes in its international status, – considers other evronablyudatel Stanimir Ilchev from the National Movement Simeon II. – For Bulgaria this means to close the enormous historical and make it a semi-circle around, which we will in the future to go forward with the most developed economic and political aspects of European states. In this case we allowed sufficient time to ensure that we managed to reduce the historical distance between us and these countries, both in economy and in the living standards of ordinary citizens. The movement of this circle – this is one of the most productive of movements, of which many nations can only dream of, and to accede to that, other nations, including our Balkan neighbors, begin to make serious efforts, which we have many years of working hard . In my opinion, not later than three years, Bulgaria is the favorable situation occurs in the labor market and the investment policy of the state, which would increase employment, and then in the next three years, or just under six years will come and serious policy changes in incomes of Bulgarian citizens. Bulgarians will then have more engaged, their work will be better paid, as a result, increase the level of their social and health insurance. This will allow them to significantly expand their horizons, to build personal, family and corporate plans that meet the standards of developed countries. All this will make them more long-term plans and give them more courage to invest either in their own business or to improve the quality of life “- expressed confidence Stanimir Ilchev.
